Some breedings are exciting because of the individuals involved. Others are exciting because of the story their pedigrees tell.
We are thrilled that H Envy H has officially checked in foal for 2027 to Alborada Ragnar Lodbrok for the Al Rashad Stud.
We have been following Alborada Ragnar Lodbrok after watching him capture the Senior Stallion Silver Medal at the GCAT Championship in São Paulo, Brazil, last summer. So when he entered the arena at the GCAT Supreme Championships in Doha, Qatar last December, we were thrilled to be able to see him in person. He immediately distinguished himself with a commanding presence, unmistakable Arabian type, and an elegance that set him apart from the rest. Bred by the Bulnes family of Haras Panquehue in Chile, Alborada Ragnar Lodbrok embodies the thoughtful breeding decisions that have long defined one of South America’s most respected Arabian breeding programs.
Seeing him again earlier this year in February during Royal Arabians’ Scottsdale Open House only reinforced that first impression. His beauty is undeniable, but it was his pedigree that ultimately kept drawing me back.
The deeper we delved into his pedigree, the more one name quietly emerged—not always in plain sight, but always there. *Sanacht.
For many breeders, *Sanacht needs little introduction. One of the breed’s truly great foundation mares, *Sanacht has quietly shaped generations of Arabian horses through descendants whose influence continues to be felt around the world. While modern pedigrees often celebrate today’s fashionable sires, many of those pedigrees still lead back to extraordinary mares whose contributions have stood the test of time. *Sanacht is unquestionably one of them.
Alborada Ragnar Lodbrok carries two lines to ST Synbad, a stallion whose importance as a breeding horse becomes more apparent with every generation. Through his sire, *Halux, come the treasured influences of Menes RASB and Love Melody, the celebrated daughter of Aladdinn and Bask Melody, by Bask. Through his maternal family, ST Synbad traces directly to Amurath Sangala, a daughter of *Czortan and out of Amurath Selari, herself the daughter of *Ramses Fayek and the legendary *Sanacht.
Both his sire, HP Ali, and his dam, Alborada Anabel, contribute that same ST Synbad influence, giving Alborada Ragnar Lodbrok two independent paths back to *Sanacht. In doing so, he further preserves a family whose beauty, athleticism, and unmistakable Arabian type and structure have endured for generations.
The deeper one studies these families, the more often *Sanacht’s influence quietly emerges. Through descendants such as Amurath Selari and Amurath Sangala, her legacy continues to shape some of the Arabian breed’s most admired bloodlines more than half a century later.
And that was one of the very reasons we purchased H Envy H for the Al Rashad Stud.
While Royal Asad is celebrated throughout the world as one of today’s most influential breeding stallions, his pedigree quietly leads back to *Sanacht as well.
Through his sire, El Tino, the trail reaches Amurath Bandolero, a son of *Ramses Fayek and Amurath Kashmira, herself descending from *Sanacht. Through his dam, Lumiar Ethna, Royal Asad traces to *Sanacht twice more through Evening Star TGS, further reinforcing the influence of one of the Arabian breed’s truly great foundation mares.
H Envy H represents the very best of modern breeding through Royal Asad and Enzo, while also carrying the enduring influence of Ali Jamaal—three names that have shaped Arabian breeding programs around the world. Alborada Ragnar Lodbrok carries forward generations of carefully preserved heritage through ST Synbad, *Halux, Menes RASB, Love Melody, Amurath Sangala, *Ramses Fayek, and Hadban Enzahi.
Different horses. Different breeders. Different countries. Yet they all lead back to the same extraordinary mare. *Sanacht.
Pedigrees are never simply names on paper. They are the accumulated wisdom of generations of breeders who recognized greatness, preserved it, and entrusted it to those who would one day carry the story forward.
Here’s hoping 2027 adds one more chapter to a story that has been generations in the making.
