The Beginning of Al Rashad Stud

A Dream Realized...

For Rashad Zubi, the Arabian horse was never simply an animal.

It was part of his heritage.

Born in Amman, Jordan, Rashad grew up in a culture where the Arabian horse occupies a place unlike any other. Throughout the Middle East, the Arabian horse is more than a breed—it is a symbol of beauty, endurance, loyalty, history, and tradition. For centuries, these remarkable horses have been woven into the fabric of life, admired not only for their breathtaking beauty, but for their intelligence, courage, and enduring partnership with mankind.

While his appreciation for the Arabian horse began at an early age, life would lead Rashad on a journey far beyond Jordan.

His path first took him to Canada, where he embraced new opportunities and experiences while laying the foundation for his future. Eventually, that journey continued to Miami, Florida, where through hard work, determination, and entrepreneurial vision, he established himself as a successful businessman. Yet despite the distance and the demands of building a career, the connection to his roots remained constant.

The Arabian horse was always there.

A symbol of home. A connection to heritage. A reminder of where the journey began.

In the fall of 2024, that lifelong admiration evolved into action.

Officially established in 2024, Al Rashad Stud was founded with a simple but meaningful purpose: to pursue excellence in the Arabian horse while contributing positively to the future of the breed. What began as a dream quickly evolved into a carefully planned vision centered around breeding, ownership, stewardship, and the preservation of exceptional Arabian horses.

The next chapter began in the spring of 2025, when construction commenced on the farm’s home in Amman, Jordan.

The development of Al Rashad Stud has been a masterful journey—one driven by purpose, patience, and attention to detail. Designed to be both welcoming and efficient, the farm reflects a philosophy that values quality over excess. Every element has been thoughtfully planned to create a comfortable haven for horses and people alike, providing the foundation for a breeding program built with long-term vision in mind.

At the heart of that vision is a commitment to producing Arabian horses that bring joy.

For Rashad, breeding is not about chasing trends, fads, or fleeting popularity. It is about preserving and promoting the qualities that have made the Arabian horse beloved throughout the world for generations. The goal is straightforward: to breed Arabian horses that are beautiful, functional, athletic, and unmistakably Arabian in type—while never losing sight of the trait Rashad values most.

Temperament.

“I want to be able to handle and enjoy my horses,” says Rashad. “To brush them, lead them, spend time with them. They need to be kind and a pleasure to be around.”

That belief serves as the cornerstone of Al Rashad Stud.

The Arabian horse earned its place in history not simply because of its beauty, but because of the unique relationship it shared with people for centuries. Living alongside families, traveling across deserts, and serving as a trusted companion, the breed developed an intelligence and tractability that remain among its most treasured qualities today.

At Al Rashad Stud, preserving that connection between horse and human is every bit as important as producing a horse of exceptional quality.

“Our goal is to breed and own the finest Arabian horses possible. Whether we are enjoying the show ring, riding through the hills of Amman, or welcoming friends and guests to experience these incredible horses firsthand, our vision is much larger than ourselves. We hope to make meaningful contributions to the breed that elevate the Arabian horse on a global stage.

The Arabian horse has given so much to so many people around the world. Through Al Rashad Stud, we hope to play a small part in ensuring its future remains as bright as its past.”

— Rashad Zubi

This vision influences every aspect of Al Rashad Stud. Success is measured by far more than championships or accolades. The true objective is to preserve the qualities that have made the Arabian horse one of the world’s most beloved breeds while helping introduce new audiences to its beauty, versatility, intelligence, and enduring relevance.

The foundation of every great breeding program begins with exceptional horses, and the acquisition of outstanding breeding stock has been a defining element of Al Rashad Stud’s development.

“You cannot build a foundation with anything less than excellent breeding stock,” Rashad explains. “The horses must possess not only beauty and quality, but the depth of heritage behind them.”

Rather than pursuing temporary trends, Al Rashad Stud seeks individuals whose pedigrees have demonstrated consistency and excellence across generations. Horses whose value extends beyond a single moment in time and whose influence has the potential to endure for decades.

Equally important is the belief that pedigree alone is not enough.

A horse must embody its heritage.

“It is important that our horses represent their ancestry both phenotypically and genotypically,” Rashad says. “The qualities that appear on paper should also be evident when you stand in front of the horse.”

This philosophy guides every decision made within the program. The objective is not simply to own exceptional horses, but to thoughtfully assemble families of Arabian horses capable of making a meaningful contribution to the breed itself.

One of the qualities Rashad admires most about the Arabian horse is its remarkable ability to unite people.

Few things in the world possess the power to transcend borders, cultures, languages, and politics quite like the Arabian horse. Whether in Jordan, Europe, North America, South America, Australia, or the Gulf States, the Arabian horse creates a common language among people who might otherwise have little in common.

The breed serves as a bridge between cultures.

It creates friendships across continents, encourages collaboration, and reminds us that passion often connects people more powerfully than geography or politics ever could.

For Rashad, this spirit of connection is central to the mission of Al Rashad Stud. The goal is not only to breed exceptional Arabian horses, but also to build meaningful relationships with breeders, owners, and enthusiasts throughout the world who share a common appreciation for this extraordinary breed.

From the earliest days of the program, one individual has played an instrumental role in helping transform that vision into reality.

Today serving as Director of Al Rashad Stud, Braden Davidson has been a trusted advisor and integral part of the program since its inception. With nearly three decades dedicated to the Arabian horse industry, Braden brings a unique combination of expertise encompassing breeding, pedigree analysis, marketing, farm management, horse husbandry, conditioning, and equine reproduction.

Perhaps most uniquely, Braden’s perspective has been shaped by extensive involvement in both the halter and performance sectors of the Arabian horse industry. This balanced background provides an invaluable lens through which breeding decisions are evaluated, recognizing that true excellence exists at the intersection of beauty, athleticism, functionality, and temperament.

For Braden, breeding decisions are never made solely on pedigree, appearance, or show-ring success. Whether evaluating stallions, selecting mares, or planning future generations, equal consideration is given to structure, athletic ability, trainability, disposition, and long-term usefulness. The goal is not simply to produce horses that excel in a single discipline, but horses capable of embodying the complete Arabian horse—beautiful enough to capture attention, athletic enough to perform, and kind enough to be enjoyed every day.

One principle remains central to his philosophy:

Tractability.

“If you cannot comfortably handle, enjoy, and spend time with the horse you are breeding, then we have missed something important,” Braden explains. “A horse should not require fear, intimidation, or constant caution. These horses should enrich our lives. They should be trusted partners, willing companions, and a pleasure to be around.”

That belief strongly aligns with Rashad’s own vision for Al Rashad Stud.

Together, they share a commitment to producing Arabian horses that are not only beautiful and genetically valuable, but also kind, intelligent, and enjoyable to own. Horses capable of succeeding in the breeding barn, the show arena, under saddle, and most importantly, in the everyday moments that create a lifelong connection between horse and owner.

Braden’s background in marketing and advertising has helped establish Al Rashad Stud’s presence within the global Arabian horse community, while his hands-on involvement with breeding management, mare care, foaling, reproduction, and daily farm operations continues to provide invaluable guidance to the program.

While Al Rashad Stud proudly calls Amman, Jordan home, the program also maintains an important presence in North America through its partnership with Braden in the United States. Many of the program’s mares, foals, and breeding initiatives are developed and managed there, creating a unique bridge between Jordan and North America while allowing the farm to actively participate in one of the world’s most vibrant Arabian horse communities.

Today, Al Rashad Stud stands at the beginning of an exciting journey.

A journey rooted in heritage. Guided by friendship. Driven by purpose. And inspired by a profound respect for the Arabian horse.

From the hills of Amman to Canada, Miami, and back again, the journey has come full circle.

And for Al Rashad Stud, the story is only just beginning.
